Apple Original Films has released the official trailer for “F1,” a high-octane action movie starring Brad Pitt.
Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, a former Formula 1 racing prodigy whose career was derailed by a track accident. Thirty years later, Sonny is offered a chance at redemption by his former teammate, Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), who now owns the struggling Apex Grand Prix team (APXGP).
Cervantes recruits Sonny to join APXGP and mentor Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), a talented but arrogant rookie driver. The trailer showcases the intense dynamic between the veteran and the newcomer, as Sonny grapples with the mental and physical challenges of returning to the driver’s seat.
The film also features Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, and Kim Bodnia.
“F1” is directed by Joseph Kosinski, known for “Top Gun: Maverick,” from a screenplay by Ehren Kruger, based on a story they co-wrote. The film is produced by Pitt, Kosinski, Jerry Bruckheimer, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Chad Oman, and Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton.
Filmed during the 2023 and 2024 Formula One seasons, “F1” includes appearances by real-life drivers such as Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, and Lando Norris.
F1 will debut internationally beginning June 25, 2025.
