YouTube Music has introduced a new feature that allows users to share specific timestamps within songs and podcasts. This functionality, which was previously available in the main YouTube app, has now been added to YouTube Music for Android, iOS, and the web.
Users can share a timestamp by tapping the Share button while playing a song or podcast. The app-specific Share sheet now includes a “Start at x:xx” toggle that adds the specified time to the shared URL.
This feature is particularly useful for sharing specific segments of podcasts, but it can also be used for songs or long concert recordings. It provides a convenient way to direct listeners to a particular moment or section of audio content.
The addition of timestamp sharing in YouTube Music enhances cross-platform consistency with the main YouTube app, providing a unified user experience.
This feature is widely available following a server-side update to YouTube Music. However, the Android version’s share sheet has not yet been updated to the latest floating design, making it the only component that lacks the new look on both Android and iOS.
