Western Digital celebrated ten years of its WD Purple line of surveillance-optimized HDDs and provided a regional preview of the upcoming WD Purple Pro 26TB CMR HDD. This latest addition to the WD Purple family offers the highest capacity in its class, making it ideal for video analytics servers, AI, and deep learning systems.
The company also showcased its recently launched Ultrastar DC HC690 HDD, the world’s first 11-disk HDD with a capacity of up to 32TB. This high-capacity SMR HDD is designed for cost-effective deep content storage at scale, enabling hyperscale data centers and cloud providers to efficiently manage massive datasets.
In addition to individual HDDs, Western Digital featured its Ultrastar Data60 Hybrid Storage Platform, a JBOD solution that offers a raw storage capacity of up to 1.56PB. This platform is designed for next-generation disaggregated storage and software-defined storage (SDS) infrastructure, providing flexibility and scalability for modern data centers.
