Grew up with an Atari 2600? Well there is some great news that will surely take you back in time to the good old days of the late 70s and early 80s.
Meet the Atari 2600+, the modern recreation of the iconic Atari 2600 video game console, scheduled to be released on November 17, 2023.
The Atari 2600+ is an 80% scale replica of the original 1980 CX2600-A model. It features a Rockchip 3128 system on a chip, 256MB DDR3 RAM, and 256MB eMMC fixed internal storage. It outputs to HDMI and has two serial ports as well as USB-C input ports.
The Atari 2600+ is compatible with existing Atari 2600 and some Atari 7800 game cartridges. It also includes a cartridge slot that features ten Atari 2600 games, including Asteroids, Missile Command, and Pitfall!. A compatible CX40 joystick is also included.
So if you still have some old cartridges stored somewhere, now is the time to dust them off.
