At its global launch event in Seoul, Samsung Electronics introduced an expanded vision for the connected home with its latest Bespoke AI appliances. The event, dubbed Welcome to Bespoke AI, spotlighted a range of new smart home devices that blend artificial intelligence with screen-based controls to create a more seamless and intuitive user experience.
At the center of the company’s new approach is the AI Home display — a smart interface now featured across multiple appliances, including refrigerators, washing machines, and dryers. This screen acts as a central hub for controlling household devices, offering a broader level of connectivity and interactivity throughout the home.
The 2025 lineup includes a variety of AI-powered features designed to address common challenges in household routines. In the kitchen, the updated Bespoke AI Refrigerator introduces a 9-inch touchscreen that replicates much of the functionality found in Samsung’s Family Hub. Enhanced food management tools are also on board, including automatic recognition of packaged and processed food items via AI Vision Inside.
Laundry appliances have similarly received updates. New Bespoke AI Washers and Dryers come equipped with a 7-inch display and advanced AI Wash+ and Dry+ systems. These upgrades allow the machines to more accurately detect load characteristics, optimize settings, and reduce energy usage. One standout is the Bespoke AI Laundry Vented Combo, which claims to wash and dry clothes in just over an hour with its Super Speed cycle — a significant convenience for busy households.
The lineup also extends to home cleaning. The Bespoke AI Jet Ultra cordless vacuum cleaner features AI Cleaning Mode 2.0, which identifies different environments such as room corners and carpet types to deliver more precise cleaning. Its robot counterpart, the Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra, includes improved navigation and obstacle recognition, even detecting transparent liquids and low-profile hazards. A pop-out brush allows for cleaning along walls and tight edges.
Beyond individual features, Samsung’s push into the AI-connected home is framed by an effort to unify and simplify device management. With SmartThings integration and the AI Home screen now built into more appliances, users can manage not only Samsung devices but also supported third-party products — without requiring an external hub. Features like Daily Board offer personalized scheduling and information, while Map View provides an overview of all connected devices in the home.
Voice control has also evolved, with the updated Bixby assistant introducing Voice ID for personalized access. This allows the system to recognize who is speaking, sync user-specific data like calendars, and adjust settings accordingly. Accessibility features are also extended from mobile devices to appliance displays for users with vision impairments.
Samsung also outlined new safety and health-focused features, including Family Care, a SmartThings service that monitors user activity and alerts family members if irregular behavior is detected. This function works in tandem with robot vacuum navigation to check for possible emergency signs in the home.
Security remains a central theme in the AI Home framework. All 2025 Wi-Fi-connected appliances will include expanded Knox security with Trust Chain monitoring, real-time dashboards, and support for Knox Vault. This hardware-based encryption protects sensitive user data like login credentials. Additionally, Samsung has added post-quantum cryptography measures to futureproof its systems against next-gen cyber threats.
To support long-term usability, Samsung introduced Smart Forward — a software update program that brings new features to existing appliances over time. This ensures users aren’t forced to purchase new hardware just to access updated software capabilities. Maintenance is also being made easier through SmartThings Home Care, which uses AI diagnostics to detect potential issues and provide remote support, now rolled out in more countries including France, the Netherlands, and Canada.
As smart appliances become more commonplace, Samsung’s AI Home concept offers a look at how home environments may evolve to prioritize integration, ease of use, and user safety — all controlled through a screen-centered experience.
