Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra leaks reveal a unique squircle design, a significant departure from the traditional circular dial that has characterized the Galaxy Watch series for generations. The watch features a 1.5-inch circular display, a raised bezel with rotating capabilities for navigating menus and selecting options, and three buttons on the side for additional control. The larger size of the Watch 7 Ultra is expected to accommodate a larger 578 mAh battery, potentially offering longer battery life than previous models. It is also rumored to be powered by a new 3-nanometer Exynos W1000 chip, which could bring significant performance improvements to rival the Apple Watch’s powerful processors.
The Watch 7 Ultra may also boast an enhanced health sensor suite, including the standard PPG and blood oxygen sensors, along with a temperature sensor. More importantly, it could be the first smartwatch capable of noninvasive blood sugar monitoring, a feature that could be revolutionary for diabetics and health-conscious users alike. However, this feature might arrive later, pending approval from regulatory bodies like the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
In terms of software, we expect the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra to run on Samsung’s One UI for Watch based on Wear OS 5, which was recently unveiled at Google I/O 2024. While there aren’t any major visual changes expected to the software, Samsung might integrate some AI features to improve workout or sleep tracking, potentially offering more personalized fitness insights and guidance.
