PlayStation 5 owners can now enjoy a simplified way to connect with fellow gamers, thanks to Sony’s latest system software update. This update introduces shareable links, a feature announced back in May, making it easier to invite others to join your multiplayer games.
With this new PS5 update, you can generate a link within the app and share it with anyone, regardless of whether they are on your PlayStation Network friends list. This link is accompanied by a QR code for added convenience. Note that some games might require an update for this feature to work seamlessly. The beauty of these links is their flexibility; they remain active for a while, so even if your friend joins 10 or 30 minutes later, they can still hop into your game. Sharing the link on Discord also provides a handy widget indicating whether the game is still active.
In addition to the shareable links, the update also brings voice command functionality for accessing Game Help action cards. Simply say “Show Game Help” to activate it. Currently, this feature is limited to English-speaking users in the US and UK who have PlayStation Network accounts.
