Samsung has begun distributing the fifth beta version of its One UI 7 software, bringing a notable camera enhancement to the entire Galaxy S24 series. The update, which is based on Android 15, introduces Log video recording to the standard Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus models, aligning their video capabilities with the previously exclusive features of the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
This update allows all Galaxy S24 users to capture video with an extended dynamic range, a feature particularly beneficial for those involved in video editing and color grading. The Log video format provides more flexibility in post-production, enabling users to achieve a wider range of visual effects.
To access the Log video recording feature after installing the One UI 7 Beta 5 update, users can open the Samsung Camera application, navigate to the “More” section, select “Pro Video” mode, and then activate the “LOG” button located at the top of the screen.
In addition to the new video feature, the One UI 7 Beta 5 update addresses several software issues. The update includes fixes for intermittent display errors with the Now Bar controller, lock screen notification setting errors, and issues with icon sizes on the Widget Setting screen. It also resolves intermittent blur issues related to widget transparency, partial font and image overlap problems, and spacing issues within the Quick action menu.
Furthermore, the update rectifies an intermittent issue with the Gallery edit button, corrects a Notification History operation error, and improves media playback to display as a real-time notification. Numerous other refinements and bug fixes are included in the update.
The One UI 7 Beta 5 update, which is approximately 976MB in size, also incorporates the March security patch, enhancing the security posture of the Galaxy S24 series. The stable version of One UI 7 for the S24 series is anticipated to be released in the coming month. This update reflects Samsung’s commitment to refining its software and providing users with enhanced features and improved performance.
