Nothing has begun rolling out a new software update for the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro models, focusing on incremental feature enhancements and stability improvements driven by user feedback. The update introduces 4K video recording support for the telephoto and periscope cameras, offering users higher resolution video capture through more of the device’s lenses.
A notable addition is the new Privacy Space feature. Users can now swipe right within the app drawer to access a dedicated secure area, designed to keep sensitive apps and data separate. To bolster security further, the update allows setting a distinct privacy password specifically for the App Locker and Privacy Space, giving users more control over how private content is protected.
Other practical changes include a new Hotspot Manager, simplifying the process of monitoring and managing devices connected to the phone’s mobile hotspot. Camera performance has also been refined. Selfies now display improved facial detail and more accurate color tones, while night photography—particularly under streetlights—benefits from better exposure and clarity. Additionally, users can now apply filters to full-resolution 50MP photos, a small but useful addition for those who prefer editing high-detail images without losing quality. Low-light performance for the telephoto lens has been improved as well, with updates addressing brightness consistency and flicker reduction.

The update also incorporates the April Android security patch, along with general system bug fixes and stability improvements. As usual, the rollout is happening in stages, meaning it may take some time before it reaches all Phone (3a) devices.
With these changes, the Nothing Phone (3a) series continues to receive thoughtful updates aimed at enhancing user experience without drastically overhauling the device’s original strengths.
