Xiaomi made a splash at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, showcasing their first electric vehicle in person: the SU7. Initially announced in China late last year, this marks its physical debut.
The SU7 is a sporty sedan with an attention-grabbing blue finish. It’s built for performance, boasting Xiaomi’s own electric motors and a claimed 0-60 mph time of just 2.78 seconds.
But speed isn’t the only impressive stat. The SU7 promises a 101kWh battery delivering over 497 miles of range – significantly more than most current EVs. It also supports fast charging, getting 500 KM back with just 15 minutes plugged in. Xiaomi even hints at future 150kWh batteries enabling an astonishing 1100+ KM range, though that’s likely a few years off.
Tech-wise, the SU7 is packed with sensors for autonomous driving, plus a massive 16-inch infotainment screen, driver’s heads-up display, and a unique “rotating dashboard.”
While Xiaomi hasn’t revealed pricing or firm release dates, they’re aiming to be a top-five global automaker. This means the SU7 could reach markets outside of China, though likely at a premium price point.
