Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has revised its labeling approach for AI-generated content.Previously labeled “Made with AI,” the new tag will now read “AI Info,” aiming to provide a clearer understanding of how AI is utilized in creating and modifying content shared on Meta’s platforms.
The change comes after receiving feedback from users and creators, who found the previous label unclear and sometimes misleading. “Like others across the industry, we’ve found that our labels weren’t always aligned with people’s expectations and didn’t always provide enough context,” Meta explained in a blog post.
The updated “AI Info” label will indicate that the content was either created or modified using AI technology, offering greater transparency and accuracy. This move reflects Meta’s ongoing efforts to navigate the complexities of AI-generated content in the digital landscape while addressing concerns about misinformation and authenticity.
