Mercedes-Benz is enhancing its MBUX Voice Assistant with a new AI-driven knowledge feature, allowing for more natural and informative interactions between drivers and their vehicles. This feature leverages the power of ChatGPT and Microsoft Bing search to provide accurate and up-to-date responses to a wide range of questions.
With this update, drivers can ask their Mercedes-Benz general knowledge questions on various topics, from pop culture and history to science and geography. The system can even engage in continuous conversations, understanding context and responding to follow-up questions.
This AI-powered knowledge feature is seamlessly integrated into the existing MBUX Voice Assistant. Drivers can activate it by simply saying “Hey Mercedes” or pressing the speech button on the steering wheel. The system also stores conversation history for up to an hour, allowing for more natural and continuous dialogue.
This free update is available for over three million Mercedes-Benz vehicles equipped with the MBUX infotainment system. It is initially offered in German, British English, and American English, with support for other languages expected in the future.
Mercedes-Benz emphasizes that data privacy remains a top priority. All voice command data is anonymized and securely stored in the Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Cloud. Additionally, a risk assessment tool is implemented to evaluate system responses and minimize the potential for harmful or inappropriate content
