Marshall has unveiled the latest versions of their popular Emberton and Willen Bluetooth speakers, the Emberton III and Willen II. While most upgrades are incremental, the most exciting addition is Bluetooth LE with Auracast support.
Auracast, although not immediately available at launch, will soon enable users to stream audio to multiple speakers simultaneously, using their Marshall speaker as the source.
The Emberton III, the larger of the two speakers, boasts twin drivers and bass radiators for a powerful 360-degree sound experience. The compact Willen II, on the other hand, is designed for portability and can be easily clipped onto a bag.
Key Improvements:
- Enhanced Battery Life: The Emberton III now offers over 32 hours of playtime, a slight increase from its predecessor. The Willen II’s battery life has also been extended to 17+ hours.
- Microphone for Speakerphone: Both speakers now include a built-in microphone for hands-free calls.
- IP67 Dust and Water Resistance: Both models are dust and water-resistant, adding to their durability.
- Sound Presets: The Emberton III features three sound presets: Marshall Sound, low/hi loudness boost, and a treble boost for speech.
Pricing and Availability:
The Emberton III and Willen II are available for pre-order now, with deliveries starting on August 26th. The Emberton III is priced at $159, and the Willen II is priced at $119.
Marshall’s latest Bluetooth speakers offer welcome improvements, with extended battery life, added features, and the promise of future Auracast support. While the Auracast feature is not yet available, its inclusion positions these speakers as future-ready options for seamless multi-speaker audio sharing.
