Recent leaks from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman offer some encouraging news. He suggests that despite the major upgrades expected in the iPhone 16 Pro, the price may remain the same as the iPhone 15 Pro. This comes as a relief amidst rumors that Apple might use the speculated higher base storage of 256GB to justify a price increase.
Gurman also shed light on other anticipated features of the iPhone 16 series. A new touch-sensitive Capture button is expected to bring DSLR-like controls, potentially enhancing the phone’s photography capabilities. The Pro models are also rumored to have remarkably slimmer bezels, noticeable even compared to the already sleek iPhone 15 Pro.
Battery life, already a strength of the iPhone 15 Pro, is likely to see further improvements in the iPhone 16 Pro, potentially making it a battery life champion in the smartphone market.
I expect the touch sensitive camera button to be on all iPhone 16 models tomorrow. The slimmer bezels on the Pro line are noticeable, as are battery life improvements. I don’t expect the Pro entry price to be raised from $999. Big focus will be on AI & A18 chip across the board.

Under the hood, Apple’s own A18 chip, built on TSMC’s 3nm process and based on Arm’s V9 architecture, is expected to power the new iPhones. This powerful chip will be crucial for handling the on-device AI processing that Apple is likely to showcase in its upcoming “Glowtime” presentation.
While the final verdict on pricing will have to wait until the official unveiling, these leaks paint a promising picture for the iPhone 16 Pro: cutting-edge AI features, enhanced camera controls, longer battery life, and a potentially unchanged price tag.
