As anticipation builds for the iPhone 16 series, whispers about next year’s iPhone 17 are already circulating. Notably, rumors suggest Apple might replace the Plus model with a new iPhone 17 Slim, potentially the most radical redesign since the iPhone X.
However, recent leaks indicate potential setbacks for the Slim’s release. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo sheds more light, revealing that the iPhone 17 Slim could sport a single wide-angle camera, unlike the dual-camera setup expected for the standard iPhone 17 and the triple-camera arrangement on the Pro models. Specifics about the camera’s capabilities remain unknown, although other models are rumored to feature a 48MP main camera.
While the Slim is expected to be constructed with titanium, it might contain a lower percentage than the current iPhone 15 Pro models. Other rumored specs include a 6.6-inch screen with a 2,740 x 1,260 resolution, an A19 chip, a design similar to the current iPhone models with Dynamic Island, and Apple’s own 5G chip.
These leaks suggest Apple is prioritizing a sleek new design for the iPhone 17 Slim over cutting-edge specifications. With a single camera, no A19 Pro chip, and a slightly smaller display than the iPhone 15 Pro Max, it seems unlikely that this model will be the rumored iPhone 17 Ultra.
