In a move to enhance the user experience and streamline music discovery, Instagram and Spotify have rolled out a new integration that allows users to seamlessly add songs to their Spotify library directly from the Instagram app. This feature eliminates the need to switch between apps, making it easier than ever to save and enjoy music discovered on social media.
Previously, encountering a song you liked on Instagram meant having to manually search for it on Spotify. With this update, users can simply tap on a song playing in an Instagram Story or post to view more information and add it to their Spotify library without leaving the Instagram app. A new “Add to Spotify” button appears next to the music player, allowing for quick and easy saving.
To utilize this feature, users must link their Spotify account to their Instagram account. Once linked, songs added through Instagram will appear in the “Liked Songs” playlist and within the “Your Library” tab on Spotify. This new integration is available for both iOS and Android users, ensuring widespread accessibility.
This update reflects a growing trend of social media platforms integrating with music streaming services to enhance music discovery and sharing. TikTok, for example, already offers a similar feature that works with Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music.
By enabling users to effortlessly save songs they discover on Instagram, this new integration aims to create a more streamlined and enjoyable music discovery experience. It also provides artists with another avenue for their music to be discovered and shared.
