Microsoft ha released its latest update to Copilot, dubbed “Wave 2”. This upgrade brings exciting enhancements to familiar Office applications, introduces new tools like Copilot Pages, and empowers businesses with Copilot agents.
Introducing Copilot Pages: A Collaborative Canvas
Copilot Pages is a dynamic workspace integrated directly into Copilot. This persistent canvas allows users to gather, edit,and share content generated by the AI assistant, facilitating seamless collaboration between multiple individuals. This feature is currently available to those with a Microsoft Entra account and will roll out in the coming weeks. There’s no word yet on a wider release.

- Word: Gain quick access to web data and information from emails and meetings while writing. A new start experience and inline collaboration with Copilot enhance the writing process. (Coming in late September 2024)
- Excel: Integrate the Python programming language for advanced analysis and unlock new capabilities for handling unstructured data. (Python functionality is currently in public preview)
- PowerPoint: Customize your presentations with the new Narrative Builder, allowing for tailored outlines and branded graphics.
- Teams: Copilot now leverages AI to provide insights on meeting transcripts and chat, helping you catch up on missed information.
- Outlook: A “Prioritize my inbox” feature will use AI to intelligently organize your emails based on their importance. (Coming in late 2024)
- OneDrive: Leverage Copilot’s AI to search for specific information within your files, making it easier to find what you need.
