Ring has announced significant updates at CES 2025, focusing on home safety and security. The Amazon-owned company is partnering with Kidde to introduce a new line of smart smoke and combination alarms, while also upgrading its Floodlight Cam Pro and Spotlight Cam Pro cameras to 2K resolution.
Ring has teamed up with Kidde, a leading fire safety product manufacturer, to integrate Ring technology into smart smoke and combination alarms. These new alarms will send real-time notifications to the Ring app on users’ mobile devices when smoke or carbon monoxide is detected.
The integration also allows existing Kidde users to connect eligible hardwired alarms to the Ring app for enhanced monitoring. Additionally, the new Kidde alarms will provide users with a week’s notice through the app when batteries are running low, preventing those annoying chirps and last-minute battery replacements.
Ring is also enhancing its Floodlight Cam Pro and Spotlight Cam Pro cameras with a free over-the-air update to 2K resolution. This upgrade will provide users with clearer and more detailed video footage for improved home security.
