Apple has announced that the 2025 Swift Student Challenge will commence on February 3rd. This annual coding competition, held in conjunction with Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), invites students worldwide to demonstrate their coding skills and creativity using Swift Playgrounds or Xcode.
The Swift Student Challenge provides an opportunity for students to learn valuable coding skills and gain real-world experience applicable to future careers. To assist participants, Apple will host an online session offering guidance and inspiration. The session will feature an Apple engineer discussing key elements of successful apps, tips from a former Challenge winner, and ideas for creating engaging app playgrounds.
Apple has also updated its Develop in Swift Tutorials to provide students with foundational coding knowledge. The company will select 350 winners based on criteria such as innovation, creativity, social impact, and inclusivity. Fifty of these winners will be invited to a three-day experience at Apple Park in Cupertino, California, typically coinciding with WWDC in June.
Submissions for the Swift Student Challenge will open on February 3rd, 2025, and remain open for three weeks. This is a valuable opportunity for students passionate about coding to showcase their talents and potentially gain recognition from Apple.
