According to reports, Apple intends to implement similar updates across its Mac and iPad platforms, with a focus on achieving greater consistency in the user experience across all devices.
The upcoming iOS 19 update is described as going beyond standard aesthetic adjustments. For the iPhone, it is expected to be the most extensive redesign since the introduction of iOS 7 in 2013. That previous update brought about a fundamental shift in the iPhone’s software interface.
Similarly, the next macOS update is reported to bring major changes to the Mac platform, representing the most significant upgrade since macOS Big Sur in 2020. That previous update included notable design alterations to elements such as the Dock and Notification Center.
The reported changes include modifications to the visual style of icons, menus, applications, windows, and system buttons. The design approach is said to be influenced by visionOS, with Apple aiming to create a more uniform design language across its software platforms.
