Apple has announced a major update to its video editing software, Final Cut Pro, introducing a host of new features and enhancements across Mac, iPad, and iPhone. Final Cut Pro 11 brings intelligent tools, streamlined workflows, and expanded creative options to video editors of all levels.
One of the most significant additions is the integration of AI-powered features. Magnetic Mask simplifies object isolation, making it easier to select and manipulate specific elements within a video. Transcribe to Captions automatically generates closed captions, saving editors valuable time and effort.
Final Cut Pro 11 also embraces spatial video editing, allowing users to import, edit, and deliver projects designed for Apple Vision Pro. This opens up new possibilities for immersive storytelling and content creation.
The iPad version, Final Cut Pro for iPad 2.1, receives updates focused on enhancing the touch-first editing experience. New features include Enhance Light and Color for quick adjustments, new Live Drawing inks for creative effects, and haptic feedback for more intuitive control.
For iPhone users, Final Cut Camera 1.1 adds support for 4K recording at 120 frames per second on iPhone 16 Pro, along with the ability to preview LUTs during recording. Log-encoded HEVC video capture offers smaller file sizes for more efficient storage.
Apple’s music production software, Logic Pro, also receives updates for both Mac and iPad versions, including a new Quantec Room Simulator plug-in for advanced reverb effects.
These updates leverage Apple’s powerful M-series chips and machine learning capabilities to provide faster, more intelligent tools for creative professionals and enthusiasts alike. Final Cut Pro 11 is available as a free update for existing users and priced at $299.99 for new users on the Mac App Store. Final Cut Pro for iPad is offered as a subscription for $4.99 per month or $49 per year. Final Cut Camera 1.1 is available as a free standalone app.
