Apple has expanded its music platform’s flexibility by introducing a new tool that allows users to export their Apple Music playlists directly to YouTube Music. This feature is currently available to those with an active Apple Music or iTunes Match subscription.
The export process is simple: users navigate to Apple’s Data and Privacy page, select the relevant option, and follow the on-screen instructions. While the transfer is typically swift, it’s worth noting that only personally created playlists are eligible for export, and Apple Music exclusive tracks won’t make the jump.
Interestingly, Spotify has been excluded from this new feature, despite its popularity. This omission might be attributed to the somewhat strained relationship between Apple and Spotify.
Following a successful export, users will receive a confirmation email from Apple, and the transferred playlists will appear in their YouTube Music library. It’s important to note that any subsequent updates to the original playlist on Apple Music won’t be reflected on YouTube Music.
This development comes at a busy time for Apple, with the upcoming “Glowtime” event on September 9th, where the company is expected to unveil the iPhone 16 series, Apple Watch Series 10, and new AirPods.
