Amazon has started sending notification to its Prime Video subscribers, informing them that they have to pay an extra fee for an ad-free viewing experience. In an email the company said that it will start showing “limited advertisements” starting January 29. An additional fee of $3 a month is now added on top of the Prime subscription or the standalone Prime Video membership.
Amazon said that On January 29 ads will start airing in the U.S., UK, Germany and Canada, followed by France, Italy, Spain, Mexico, and Australia later in the year. It’s still unclear how the UAE and MENA region is affected.
