AlphaTheta, formerly known as Pioneer DJ Corp launched two new products today: the Omnis-Duo all-in-one DJ controller and the Wave-Eight speaker. Both products are designed to be portable and have battery power, making them appealing options for mobile DJs.
The Omnis-Duo is a 10-pound controller with a two-channel mixer, jog wheels, and performance pads. It has a touchscreen display with an XDJ-style workflow and both light and dark modes. It also has essential controls for volume, EQ, playback, pitch, and dedicated ones for beat jump and beat loop. There are also controls to select eight types of beat FX and six types of sound color FX.
The Omnis-Duo has a variety of connectivity options, including USB-A, SD cards, USB-C laptop input, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. The Bluetooth input allows users to connect their mobile device and play files from their set with effects. The Wi-Fi connectivity allows users to access cloud file storage through a wirelessly connected computer or mobile device running Rekordbox.
The Wave-Eight speaker is an 8-inch speaker with a Vortex Bass Accelerator. It has an extendable handle and casters for luggage-style rolling, plus a couple of convenient grab handles. It is IPX4 rated, so it is good for the outdoors unless rain really starts coming down. The speaker has an onboard battery that should give you about eight hours of playtime on a charge.
The Wave-Eight speaker has a removable AlphaTheta transmitter with SonicLink technology. The transmitter has an RCA input and a USB-C cable. It can be used to connect the speaker to an audio setup wirelessly. The speaker also supports Bluetooth connectivity.
The Omnis-Duo all-in-one DJ controller costs $1,499 and the Wave-Eight speaker costs $899. Both products are available starting today.
