Oppo has recently launched the Reno 10 Series smartphones in the UAE. The NEW series includes Oppo Reno10 5G, Oppo Reno10 Pro 5G, and Oppo Reno10 Pro Plus 5G. We took the entry model of the series 10, the Reno 10 5G for a spin and this what we think about it.
What’s in the box?
Design and display
One of the main positioning of the Oppo series 10 line is being stylish, and that it is! The Oppo Reno10 is a good looking device for sure with a matte finish and pill like camera module. The Reno10 comes in 2 different color variations. the gradient Ice Blue, which is the variant we tested, changes colors depending on the light angle, and the other color being Silver Grey.
The display on the front is 3D curved, which enhances the overall ergonomics of the device and makes it very easy and comfortable to hold and use. The device is light and weighs 185g and 7.99mm in thickness. On the frame, we see the usual placement for power button and volume on the right, and sim try on the bottom next to the speaker and USB-C port.
The Reno10 5G gets a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The color output is very good with vibrant deep colors reproduction. The 2,412 x 1,080 pixel resolution does a great job overall during our testing with streaming and gaming. The brightness is also good, probably not the highest, with a maximum output of 950 nits, but gets the job done in outdoor environment. HDR10+ support is also available.
Performance and software
The OPPO Reno10 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset. paired with 8GB of RAM. The phone comes 256GB storage version in the UAE. The phone was able to handle tasks with no issues, from messaging, to social media, email, and browsing while multitasking. We’ve seen a bit of drops and heating up a bit when we started to push the device with heavier tasks like gaming, but nothing that really raised a flag, considering the specs and entry level of the series 10 variants.
The Reno10 5G comes with Android 13 and Oppo’s ColorOS 13.1 on top. In a usual Oppo fashion, the phone preloaded with apps like games, Amazon, Netflix, Yango and other, which can be of course removed. Overall ColorOS 13.1 bring good features like Smart Always-On Display, which allows you to control apps without the need to unlock the display, and other features like Clone Phone, IR Remote, O-Relax, and more.
Camera
The Oppo Reno10 5G features a triple camera setup at the back, with a 64MP primary sensor, a 32MP telephoto portrait camera, and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor.
The 64MP primary camera clicks good photos, with clear details. The pictures taken in outdoor environment are clear and sharp with vivid colors, although in some instances it tends to blow out certain sceneries like the sky. In low light, or night mode the outcome is also good, not the best in class, but nothing to really raise a flag again for the price range and positioning of the device. The 8MP wide-angle lens covers a good Field of View, and the 32MP telephoto portrait lens, equipped with a Sony IMX709 flagship sensor, captures good images in both indoor and outdoor conditions. Finally, the 32MP selfie camera at the front, works as expected for selfies and produces decent images, which some times tend to look a bit artificial.

Oppo has included a 67W SuperVOOC fast charging adapter inside the box which can charge the device from 0 to 100% in about 55 minutes.
Verdict
The OPPO Reno10 5G is a premium-looking device for sure that ticks the essential boxes for its price point. This is recommended for people who are looking to have a good value for money device that can deliver everyday tasks with ease and great battery life.
