Redmi has recently released the Note 10S smartphone in the UAE, and we had a chance to take it for a test drive.The Redmi Note 10S is a budget to mid-range smartphone which starts at AED 849.
Let’s start with a quick look at the specs. The Redmi Note 10S packs a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, powered by a MediaTek Helio G95 SoC, 6GB RAM, 64/128GB of storage and a 5,000mAh battery which supports 33W fast charging. Camera wise, it has a 64MP+8MP+2MP+2MP rear camera / 13MP front camera.
Design and build
The Note 10S has a plastic back and frame. The slim 8.3mm casing feels good in the hand and comfortable to hold. The Redmi Note 10S has a glossy finish. Instead of an in-display fingerprint reader under the AMOLED panel, the Note 10s opts for a side scanner integrated with the power button.

The Redmi Note 10s packs a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate and support for HDR10, and has a great viewing angles indoor and outdoor. In addition, MIUI OS brings customization options, like colour temperature setting and other display tweaks. The over all dimply in protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The Note 10S has a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, and a true stereo speaker setup. The Note 10S comes in Shadow Black, Frost White, and Deep Sea Blue

Performance & Software
Redmi Note 10S delivers a good performance overall for your everyday tasks and multitasks at ease. Gaming on this phone is also good, in general we had minimal drops during the duration of the games we tried.
The Redmi Note 10S runs MIUI 12.5.2, and packs features like Always-on Display, Game Turbo, Video Toolbox, and Privacy Protection.
Battery wise, we were able to get a full day on a single charge while using the basic tasks like browsing, email, social media, and few hours of video streaming. The phone fully charges within an hour + using the 33W charger which comes in the box.

Camera
On the back, the Note 10S packs a 64-megapixel primary, 8-megapixel ultra-wide, 2-megapixel macro, 2-megapixel depth, and a 13-megapixel front shooter. The UI comes with features like Pro mode, Portrait, AI scene recognition, HDR, Pro Colour, Macro, dedicated 64MP mode, and more.
The Note 10S captured good images with well balanced dynamic range and colors were good and accurate. The ultra-wide sensor has a decent performance, and pictures are soft color wise. Night mode quality was acceptable as well.
While testing 4K recording at 30fps, the phone performed well. You can also record at 1080p at 30fps or 60fps.

Verdict
Redmi Note 10S ticks all the basic boxes for its price range. It’s a good performing device overall and is recommended for a mid ranger.
