Although the frame is made from plastic, the device feels very premium and good in the hand thanks to its curved sides. The phone is available in three colors, with the Wave Blue and Cloud White color variants getting a unique wavy texture on the back, and the Stargaze Black with a smooth, glossy finish.
The right side of the device holds the power button / fingerprint scanner and the volume rocker. There are speakers on both the bottom and the top. On the bottom there’s a charging and data port via a USB Type-C.
Camera
The POCO X3 GT houses a triple camera setup on the back, a 64MP primary lens with an f/1.79 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, and a 2MP macro sensor.
Performance wise, the primary camera setup is good and produces sharp and colorful photos with plenty of details, and wide dynamic range. The low light shots are not fully noiseless, the POCO X3 GT can still outshine phones in the same category. Although there’s no telephoto lens, you can digitally zoom up to 10X. The rear camera can record videos in up to 4K.
The front-facing camera has a 16MP lens which surprisingly takes high-quality selfies, with a very efficient portrait mode.
Performance, software, and battery life
The POCO X3 GT is powered by MediaTek’s new Dimensity 1100 5G, which is a very capable processor. The device is available in two different RAM and storage configurations: an 8GB/128GB variant and a 8GB/256GB variant.
The 1100 chip delivers where it matters, a very smooth software handling, and so far a super gaming experience. The phone handled multiple games without a hitch or drops in frames while tested it. It’s worth mentioning that the POCO X3 GT is packed with a cooling technology that POCO calls LiquidCool Technology 2.0, which during our tests, performed very well and kept the phone at a very cool temperate even while playing heavy games.
The 5,000mAh battery, as expected provides a very good life, with nearly 2 days of moderate usage, and around 6 hours+ of screen on time. The 67W fast-charging is a an awesome addition as well, capable to fully charge in around 42 minutes.
Software wise, the POCO X3 GT is loaded with Xiaomi’s base software, the MIUI 12.5, which is a layer over Google’s Android 11. The overall software experience is clean, and feels almost stock but with more colorful icons. There are some added apps which POCO adds by default (can be removed of course), like Amazon, PubG, Netflix and others,
Verdict
From performance, design, display to its super solid battery life, the POCO X3 GT a great choice for anyone looking to get value for money.
