Unboxing a Beast: UGREEN Nexode Power Bank Review

In the ever-evolving world of portable power, UGREEN has consistently pushed the boundaries with its innovative GaN chargers and power banks. Having used their 145W power bank and their monstrous 300W 48000mAh behemoth, I was eager to get my hands on their latest offering, the Nexode 25000mAh Power Bank.

A Design That Speaks Volumes

UGREEN’s previous power banks had a somewhat traditional design, but the Nexode series marks a significant departure. This 25000mAh variant boasts a sleek, rectangular chassis that screams portability. Weighing in at 609g, it’s surprisingly lightweight for a power bank of this capacity. The build quality is impeccable, with a robust plastic chassis housing five 5000mAh cells and the necessary safety features to protect against overcharging and overheating.

The design language is reminiscent of Anker’s Prime series, a trend I’m happy to see other brands embracing. The only minor gripe I have is the plain black design on the back and sides, which houses the charging ports. A continuation of the grey color scheme would have been aesthetically pleasing.

The TFT Panel: A Geek’s Delight

One of the standout features of the Nexode Power Bank is the integrated TFT panel. Activated by a side-mounted power button, this panel displays real-time charging information, including the power bank’s battery level, the charging status of each port, and the estimated remaining charge time. As someone who loves gadgets with built-in power meters, this is a feature I genuinely appreciate.

The information on the TFT panel is impressively accurate. I cross-checked the values with my trusty Power-Z KM003C charging tester, and they were spot on. It’s fascinating to see the power delivery in real-time, and pressing the power button again reveals a volt/amp indicator, particularly useful for monitoring charging speeds on phones.

Power to Spare: 25000mAh Battery and 200W Output

The Nexode Power Bank’s massive 25000mAh battery is more than enough to charge almost any device, including power-hungry laptops. The primary USB-C port can deliver a whopping 140W, making it ideal for MacBooks and other high-performance devices.

If you need to charge multiple devices simultaneously, the Nexode Power Bank has you covered. With a combined 200W power budget, you can get 100W out of each USB-C port, allowing you to charge a phone and a laptop simultaneously without breaking a sweat.

Real-World Performance: Putting it to the Test

Over the past three months, I’ve used the Nexode Power Bank with various devices, including the Pixel 9 Pro XL, Xiaomi 14 Ultra, Vivo X100 Ultra, Honor Magic V3, Steam Deck, iPad Pro, and countless accessories. It has proven to be incredibly reliable.

Even after dozens of charge cycles, the Nexode Power Bank’s efficiency remains consistent. The only real downside I encountered is the USB-A port’s limitation to 22.5W. In a world where other power banks offer up to 65W over USB-A,UGREEN needs to step up its game.

Power Profiles: The Tech Specs

For those interested in the nitty-gritty, here’s a breakdown of the Nexode Power Bank’s power profiles:

  • USB-C1 out (140W Max): 5V/3A (15W), 9V/3A (27W), 12V/3A (36W), 15V/3A (45W), 20V/5A (100W),28V/5A (140W)
  • USB-C2 out (100W Max): 5V/3A (15W), 9V/3A (27W), 12V/3A (36W), 15V/3A (45W), 20V/5A (100W)
  • USB-A out (22.5W Max): 5V/3A (15W), 9V/2A (18W), 12V/1.25A (18W), 10V/2.25A (22.5W)
  • USB-C1/C2 in (65W Max): 5V/3A (15W), 9V/3A (27W), 12V/3A (36W), 15V/3A (45W), 20V/3.25A (65W)
  • USB-C1 + USB-C2 out (200W Max): 100W + 100W

The Verdict: A Must-Have for Power Users

The UGREEN Nexode 25000mAh Power Bank is a remarkable piece of technology. Its combination of a massive 25000mAh battery, 200W power output, improved portability, and the informative TFT panel make it one of the best power banks on the market.

While the USB-A port’s limited power output and the power bank’s slow charging speed are minor drawbacks, they don’t detract from the overall experience. If you’re a tech enthusiast who needs a reliable and powerful power bank to keep your devices charged on the go, the Nexode 25000mAh Power Bank is an excellent choice.
