Logitech’s MX Master series is a mouse and keyboard master. Ok a bit punny, but it’s true. The Logitech MX Master 3 is no exception. A generational update to their mouse which would feel familiar.
Build
The MX Master 3 is perfectly built. It is sturdy, the materials feel great and the overall build just gives you confidence that this mouse has got your back.
You can charge this mouse easily, you have a bunch of buttons to use, and the entire thing is impressively light. What is there not to love?
All the buttons and switches feel really good, each press feels satisfying. The scroll wheel is marvelous and depending on what mode you use it, it is brilliant. Overall build gets a major thumbs up.
Design and Ergonomics
The MX Master series of mice are built around ergonomics. While the design is not as crazy as the ERGO K860, it is still quite interesting. Far removed from the design of a standard flat/roundish mouse. The MX Master series is more like a propped up wedge shape. It feels strange for all of 10 seconds, and you get so instantly used to it. The design feels quite natural.
Another great element to the design which I mentioned previously was that materials used are very nice. While I didn’t have the mouse for very long while testing, the materials felt premium and long lasting.
The scroll wheel is just beautiful, it somehow feels weighter while also super smooth to use. Every aspect of this mouse instills confidence.
In terms of Ergonomics, this mouse is very nice. The shape and the way you hand sits on it, makes it easy to use for long hours without any fatigue.
Features
The MX Master 3 has a bucket load of features. From the myriad of buttons, to the versatile scroll wheel to a secondary scroll wheel to get more done without lifting your hand. This mouse is a work horse packed full of features.
This mouse has 7 buttons and two scroll wheels (one of the wheels is also a button). While one button is to change the mode of the scroll wheel, the rest are pretty obvious about what they do.
You can even customise the buttons a bit via the Logitech software.
You can use this with gaming, custom buttons for in-game actions. You can use this for video editing, scrubbing the timeline or quick actions. You can use this for anything and customise it to your heart’s content.
The main scroll wheel is pretty great. It has Electromagnetic scrolling, via Logitech’s technology called MagSpeed. This is something amazing to experience. You can go from a smooth, almost no feedback scrolling, to the traditional clicky style scrolling (which you can customise) to an automatic mode that changes depending on how fast you are scrolling. Yeah who knew the scroll wheel needed to be this complex. Ok, that’s the wrong word, because it is so simple to use!
If you didn’t guess, I love this scroll wheel.
The mouse thankfully has USB-C and has a long lasting battery life. Coming in at about 1401grams, it is surprisingly light, given all that’s packed inside.
You even have a max tracking of 4000 DPI.
Logitech MX Master 3 Flow Beta Softare
Logitech’s software is also very good. It is where you will be doing all the customising and adjusting. A simple to use, fairly intuitive interface. While it might be annoying to add another piece of software, this one is worth every bit of your time, RAM and Storage.
Just like the ERGO K860, this mouse also has support for 3 devices, which you can switch quickly by the 8th button located at the bottom of the mouse (ha! you didn’t expect another button did you). Or you can connect to all 3 at the same time and flow between them.
Oh and if you can’t connect via bluetooth, then you get the unified receiver as well.
Logitech has done enough to retain their crown.
