If you’re looking for a budget fitness tracker, the Honor Band 6 offers a device packed with a lot of health and fitness features at an affordable price.

Design
The biggest change in the band 6 is the transition to a bigger screen, from 0.95″ to 1.45″. The new AMOLED panel (194 x 368) is very sharp, and easily visible in sunny outdoor conditions. there’s a single physical button on the right side. Around the back sits the optical heart rate sensor. Overall, the body of the band is compact and light measuring 43 x 25.4 x 11.45 mm millimeters with almost a bezel-less display. The Band 6’s body is plastic, but overall feels premium.
The Honor Band 6 is powered by the company’s own operating system. Navigation is easy and fluid using swiping gestures, with the side button functions as a home button.
The Honor Band 6 has a 5 ATM certification that promises water resistance in up to 50 meters depth for a maximum of 10 minutes.
Software & Health Tracking
Setting up the Band 6 to a smartphone will require the Huawei Health app, and the process is pretty straight forward and fast.
The Honor Band 6 can track mostly all the activities you’d expect from a fitness tracker. From steps, heart rate, various exercises to stress levels. The Band 6 also tracks sleeping patterns and does a great job at that compared to other trackers we’ve tested. Data around sleeping includes how well you slept, and shows how long you’ve been in REM, or light sleep, in additions to other details.

The Honor Band 6 also measures blood-oxygen through its SpO2 sensor. Additionally, the Honor Band 6 provides a 24-hour smart heart rate detection + active reminder of abnormal heart rate.
The Band 6 has 10 professional workout modes, and can automatically detect 6 workouts including running, walking, rowing.
Swipe left and right from the clock face gets you to the widget screens covering daily activity, heart rate, stress levels, weather and more, all this coupled with some interesting graphs detailing the data. Messages and various notifications can also be displayed on the HONOR Band 6, and you can control which apps to allow through the companion app.
You can choose between a wide number of watch faces available to use. We loved a lot the faces, they really bring the display to life with their vivid color and display of data at a glance.
Battery
Battery life is simply very good, we’ve used it for a full week on a single charge and still had around 40% left. Additionally, fast charging is supported through the custom charger which will plug into any USB-A port and attaches magnetically to the tracker. A full charge takes around an hour, with just ten minutes on charge the Band 6 should be able to give you at least 3 days of use.
Verdict
For a price of AED 199, this is a recommended device which covers the basic health and fitness tracking activities.
