Threads is rolling out custom feeds to all users, just days after the feature entered its testing phase. This new functionality allows users to create personalized feeds focused on specific topics or accounts, enhancing their ability to follow conversations and stay updated on areas of interest.
Creating a custom feed is a simple process. Users can search for a topic and then select the “Create new feed” option from the three-dot menu next to the search bar. Multiple topics can be added to a single custom feed, and users can also include individual accounts for a truly personalized experience.
This rapid rollout follows increased competition from platforms like Bluesky, which has seen a surge in popularity and also offers custom feed functionality. While Bluesky has experienced impressive growth, Threads remains the larger platform, with millions of users joining in November alone.
By introducing custom feeds, Threads aims to provide users with greater control and flexibility over their content consumption, allowing them to curate their experience and engage more deeply with the topics and accounts that matter most to them.
