It’s only been two months since Nintendo announced their latest gaming console, the New Nintendo 2DS XL, but that hasn’t stopped the company from revealing details on another console, one that will pull at the heartstrings of diehard fans. That’s right, Nintendo has just announced the Super Nintendo Entertainment System Classic Edition, also known as the Super NES Classic Edition.
The Super NES Classic Edition (also touted as the Super NES Classic Mini Edition) is the successor the widely popular NES Classic (Mini) Edition, a console that had a short production run from 2016 to 2017. While fans far and wide lamented the fact that the NES Classic Edition was killed less than a year into its release, some hoped that the company would bring back the console.
According to Nintendo, the Super NES Classic Edition will launch on September 29th for $79.99. Much like its predecessor, the NES Classic, it will allow players to easily play retro games on high-definition televisions, thanks to an HDMI connection. Two wired retro Super NES Classic Controllers are included for multiplayer gaming right out of the box.
The full list of games included on the SNES Classic follows:
- Contra III: The Alien Wars
