LG has unveiled its latest Gram laptops at CES 2025, showcasing a renewed focus on artificial intelligence and enhanced performance while retaining the line’s signature portability.
The refreshed lineup includes four new models: two versions of the Gram Pro, a new Gram Pro 2-in-1, and the entry-level Gram Book. The Gram Pro offers two distinct configurations: one powered by an Intel Core H-series (Arrow Lake) processor for traditional laptop tasks and light gaming, and another featuring an Intel Core Ultra V-series (Lunar Lake) chip optimized for AI tasks. The latter is designated as a Microsoft Copilot+ PC, offering integrated AI features like Recall, Live Captions, Cocreator, and Windows Studio Effects.
Beyond the Copilot+ specific features, most of the new Gram models (excluding the Gram Book) incorporate LG’s own AI enhancements, categorized into on-device and cloud-based capabilities. On-device AI includes a chatbot derived from LG’s EXAONE large language model and a “Time Travel” feature similar to Microsoft’s Recall, allowing users to easily access past web pages, documents, and media files. Cloud-based AI features include Gram Chat Cloud, a more powerful chatbot powered by GPT-4 that integrates with calendar and email services.
The Gram Pro boasts a 17-inch (Arrow Lake) or 16-inch (Lunar Lake) display with a 2560 x 1600 LCD and a 144Hz variable refresh rate. Both variants offer up to 32GB of RAM and 2TB of storage. The Arrow Lake model is equipped with an RTX 4050 graphics card for a smoother gaming experience, while the AI-focused Lunar Lake model relies on integrated Intel graphics.
The Gram Pro 2-in-1, recognized with a CES 2025 Innovation Award, features a 16-inch OLED display with a 2880 x 1800 resolution and a 120Hz variable refresh rate in its top configuration. Lower-priced variants have a 2560 x 1600 LCD with a 144Hz refresh rate. This versatile 2-in-1 laptop includes a wirelessly rechargeable stylus and can be used in tablet mode.
The Gram Book, designed to expand LG’s presence in the US market, offers a more budget-friendly option with a 15.6-inch 1920 x 1080 LCD, a 60Hz refresh rate, an Intel Core i5 CPU, integrated graphics, and up to 16GB of RAM.
LG has not yet announced pricing or release dates for these new Gram laptops.
