OmniHuman’s development involved training on a massive dataset of over 18,700 hours of video. This extensive training has enabled the AI to convincingly mimic human movements, facial expressions, and gestures. Unlike some AI video generators that focus solely on facial or upper body animation, OmniHuman can create videos of fully animated characters. A single photograph can be used to generate a video of someone delivering a speech, dancing, or even playing a musical instrument.
The results are remarkably realistic, whether the source image is a photograph of a person or a stylized painting. The AI accurately reproduces nuanced human actions, making the generated videos appear natural and engaging.
While OmniHuman is currently a research project, its potential applications are vast.
