Instagram is adding a new feature that allows users to create collages within their Stories, providing a unique way to recap their favorite moments from the past year. This feature, available for a limited time through the first week of January, enables users to combine multiple photos into a single Story post.
Previously, creating collage-like effects on Instagram Stories required manual resizing and positioning of images as stickers. While Instagram’s layout feature offered a way to combine photos, it was limited to a grid format. This new collage feature provides greater flexibility and creative control for users to curate and share their visual memories.
In addition to the collage feature, Instagram is also introducing a variety of temporary features to celebrate the New Year. These include themed “Add Yours” templates, encouraging interactive storytelling among friends. New text effects with “New Year” and “Countdown” themes are also being added, along with festive chat themes for direct messages. Furthermore, secret phrases like “happy New Year” in notes and DMs will trigger special visual effects.
