Capcom’s acclaimed remake of the classic survival horror game, Resident Evil 2, is making its way to Apple devices this December. Owners of recent iPhone, iPad, and Mac models will soon be able to experience the terrifying events of Raccoon City in stunning detail.
This release is part of Apple’s ongoing effort to showcase the gaming capabilities of its latest hardware, particularly the powerful A-series chips found in iPhones and the M1 chips powering Macs. By encouraging developers to bring their top-tier games to Apple devices, the company aims to solidify its position in the gaming market.
Resident Evil 2 originally captivated gamers in the 1990s with its intense atmosphere, gripping storyline, and innovative gameplay. The 2019 remake reimagined the classic experience with modern graphics and updated mechanics, introducing a new generation to the horrors of Raccoon City.
Players can choose to take on the role of either Leon S. Kennedy or Claire Redfield, each offering a unique perspective on the story with distinct weapons, items, and encounters.
Launching on December 10th, Resident Evil 2 for Apple devices will allow players to try a portion of the game for free before purchasing the full experience. While pricing for the Apple version has yet to be confirmed, the game is currently priced at $39.99 on other platforms.
This latest addition joins other Capcom titles already available on Apple devices, including Resident Evil 7 biohazard, Resident Evil Village, and Resident Evil 4. With Resident Evil 2, Apple users have another opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of survival horror, whether at home or on the go.
