A newly shared video gives a closer look at the upcoming iOS 19 update and reveals a noteworthy addition to the camera system for the iPhone 17 Pro series. The leaked footage, which claims to be the most complete build of iOS 19 seen so far, suggests Apple’s next major mobile software update will include several user interface refinements and a familiar, yet newly added camera feature.
According to the leak, iOS 19 will introduce changes to the Messages app, featuring more rounded design elements throughout the UI. Text suggestion boxes above the keyboard now have softer edges, and key buttons like the back arrow and FaceTime menu are enclosed in circular shapes. The overall aesthetic draws subtle inspiration from visionOS, incorporating translucent camera controls and floating UI components such as the App Store bar.
One standout detail in the leak involves the updated app icons. While not fully circular, they reportedly fall somewhere between the current iOS icon shape and the round format used in visionOS and watchOS. Added shadows and shimmer effects help deliver a layered, glass-like appearance to various screen elements. The search bar in the Messages app also appears to be relocating to the bottom of the screen for easier access.
In addition to the UI changes, the video hints at a new camera feature exclusive to the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Users may soon be able to record using both front and rear cameras at the same time, a feature previously seen on Android devices over a decade ago. While not entirely new to smartphones, this could be a welcome tool for content creators and vloggers who rely on mobile video production.
The iOS 19 update is expected to be previewed during Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June 2025. Until then, it remains to be seen which rumored features will make it into the final release.
