Hold onto your hats, folks, because Netflix just redefined the meaning of “early announcement.” Forget trailers dropping a few months before a premiere; Netflix has bestowed upon us a teaser for a show that won’t grace our screens until 2026. Yes, you read that right – 2026.
Apparently, the streaming giant couldn’t contain its excitement for “Jo Nesbo’s Detective Hole” (catchy title, right?) and decided to give us a sneak peek at the gritty detective drama starring Tobias Santelmann and Joel Kinnaman. We’re treated to a whole two seconds of footage featuring the detective’s apartment, presumably to assure us that it’s sufficiently dingy.
Netflix assures us that this is an “ambitious” production, with a whopping 160 locations and a 113-day shoot. Clearly, they spared no expense on showcasing that apartment. The nine-episode series promises to delve deep into the world of Harry Hole, but we’ll have plenty of time to brush up on our Norwegian detective novels before it finally arrives.
So, mark your calendars for… well, sometime in 2026. In the meantime, feel free to speculate wildly about the plot, characters, and whether Netflix will ever release another trailer before the next decade rolls around.
