Apple continues its smartphone dominance, according to research firm Canalys, capturing all but three spots on the list of top 10 most-shipped smartphones in 2023. This marks another landmark for the tech giant, surpassing Samsung for the first time in 13 years.
iPhone Pro Max Models Lead the Charge:
The iPhone 14 Pro Max reigns supreme as the world’s best-selling smartphone in 2023, with an impressive 34 million units shipped. Its younger sibling, the iPhone 15 Pro Max, launched in September but came close behind with 33 million units. The standard iPhone 14 secured the third spot with 29 million shipments, followed by the iPhone 14 Pro and the older iPhone 13 with 29 and 23 million units, respectively.
Apple Captures 7 Out of Top 10 Spots:
The iPhone 15 Pro continues Apple’s streak, landing at seventh place with 21 million units, while the standard iPhone 15 completes the list with 17 million shipments. Notably, both iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone 15 Plus models are absent from the top 10.
Samsung Holds Onto 3 Spots:
Samsung managed to place three smartphones on the list, all belonging to its affordable Galaxy A-series:
- Galaxy A14 4G (sixth place with 21 million)
- Galaxy A54 5G (eighth place)
- Galaxy A14 5G (ninth place)
Other Brands Notably Absent:
No other manufacturers, including OnePlus, Xiaomi, or Vivo, managed to secure a spot among the top 10 best-selling smartphones in 2023.
